This plein air watercolor was completed at the United States Forest Service Aspen Guard Station when Connie was the artist in residence.

The Old Stage Stop was the first stop on the way to Denver from Durango and the last stop on the way back. The original watercolor auctioned for $5000 to benefit the Open Space Conservancy.
